In the past, Roman historians allotted worthy importance to the settlement which developed into present Sofia. Diversity is further added by the Iskar river which has two tributaries, Perlovska and Vladayska, and the mineral springs in several spots, in the Ovcha Kupel, Gorna Banya, Knyazhevo and Pancharevo.
