The legend regarding the origin of this island is that back in the 15th century, two fishermen found a miraculous icon of the Virgin Mary on a rock. After that, people from the local community started throwing stones into the sea, eventually building an island. To continue the tradition, there is a festival each year in July involving locals gathering in boats and throwing stones around the artificial island to maintain its maintenance.
