The hike is worth every cent and every second. We are still talking about our experience in Rila mountain! Our tour guide, Adriana was wonderful, very knowledgeable about the nature and very easy to talk to. We had a blast and would recommend this experience to anyone planning to visit the mountains in Bulgaria.

Out tour guide Adriana took me and my girlfriend on a fascinating day tour to Rila Monastery and Melnik. Adriana was a source of interesting detail about all aspects of the country and is clearly totally committed to it and her clients. We were sorry to say “Goodbye” to her at the end of the tour.

Adriana was a perfect guide in Sofia!! She was so enthusiastic and such a wealth of knowledge ! I have been to Bulgaria other times but she brought new information and details that we loved!

Adriana made a custom tour for us! It was so well organized but still so relaxing, experienced and enjoyable. She introduced us Plovdiv, Melnik and Rila monastery. I am so glad that we chose The Private Tour Guide instead of one the zillion tour buses.

What a fantastic day. Adriana picked my husband and I up in the lobby of our hotel and was fun and informative right from the start. She is very personable and knowledgable. Her van was clean and roomy. Highly recommended. Two thumbs up guide. Great job Adriana!

Adriana, thank you so much for the private tour you organized for us. I have been bragging about you and our experience to everyone. I just fall in love with your country and will definitely come back one day.

Incredible time spent in Bulgaria, and major cause was Adriana! She showed us one of the best spots for skiing, breathtaking landscapes and delicious food. She had a lot of information about Bulgaria and plenty of energy to convey to us. We truly felt Bulgarian spirit. It was really amazing offer!

Adriana was a fantastic tour guide – friendly and personable. As I am a wheelchair-user, we worked out together what would be accessible for me to see and do whilst I was in Sofia. The city doesn’t have the best access for wheelchair-users but if you have Adriana with you, then you are in very safe hands!

Adriana was way better than many other tour guides. She was very knowledgeable and she took us to places than only local people know. Even though the weather was not the best, she made the whole trip enjoyable, telling us interesting facts about Bulgaria. We first went to Nessebar for a visit to some of the churches and streets. For lunch she recommended us a local restaurant that tourists would never know. Then later we headed to the south part of Bulgaria, near the Turkish border with stunning views of the coast. Thank you Adriana for this great day!

adriana is a fabulous guide and a wealth of knowledge about all things related to bulgaria. i was in plovdiv on vacation and she took me to 2 sights around plovdiv that are really super difficult to visit without a private car — asen’s fortress and the amazing crumbling communist building called buzludzha (zero public transportation to get here!). i would highly recommend having adriana take you around. she does tours out of plovdiv as well as sofia.

You can’t do any better than Adriana. She was simply outstanding. She has a very outgoing personality a profound knowledge of her country and she is filled with enthusiasm. Blake and I were able to embrace the beauty of Bulgaria because of her guidance. We felt like her friends and not simply a client. I will always remember the intimate conversations we had while she was driving through the vastness of enchanting Bulgaria. I highly reccomend her to anyone who would love to truly experience something remarkable.

Luckily I found Adriana and she was able to organize a trip for me, even when other companies wouldn’t take me in the winter! Nadya was my guide/driver and was awesome! She picked me up bright and early in Sofia, was a great driver (especially on snowy, mountain roads!), and was really fun to hang out with all day. Best yet is that she is a photographer, so she really helped me take some great photos! It was definitely nice having someone who knew how to get up the mountain and climb inside the UFO!

driana was the perfect tour guide- super friendly, accommodating and very knowledgeable. Most of all, she was heaps of fun! We had a great trip to Bulgaria and thanks to Adriana’s tour, we came away with a lot more than just seeing the typical tourist spots. Driving from Varna, we visited the lovely little town of Nessebar, then stopped for lunch at a truly local eatery/taverna, before ending the trip watching the sunset on the coast near the Turkish border. All the while Adriana was welcoming, insightful and funny. Highly recommend booking a unique and enjoyable tour with her!

The day started badly as it had been raining heavy in Varna. Fortunately, Adriana turned up and made us forget the rain and the low temperatures. She is a very easy-going guide who provided us with a spread of info on Bulgaria’s history to present day. Overall, we had a great time. Adriana is adaptable and went above her duties as a guide sorting out a venue for the evening to watch a football game. Added value to our trip – would definitely recommend her -would return in a heartbeat. Peace.

She is really a great private tour guide as I’ve travelled to many places with different tour guides , but with Adriana it’s different as she gives us plenty of information and her whole time for us. Therefore it’s a great choice who wanna visit Bulgaria.

Long distances and a variety of standards of accommodation sometimes in less traveled places but perfectly planned and meeting every expectation and beyond. We greatly admired Adriana who was a perfect, patient host for her country and company. She was knowledgeable, helpful and caring and went beyond what we expected. We also noted she kept in contact with her other company tour guides on different itineraries insuring smooth travel. Highly recommended. Hotels included but food was extra and very low priced.

Adriana was so very informative of the region and I learned a lot more beyond the places we had visited in Plovediv and the Monastery and Asen’s fortress. She has such a wealth of knowledge and regional history which was of significant added value to my tour. The pace and intensity of our conversation was comfortable and not overwhelming or intimidating I will use her again when I return to the region.

Fantastic day trip from Sofia to Plovdiv. Adriana picked us up in hotel and gave a great tour guide for next 10h. Despite fact that we only booked the trip to Plovdiv we had a short break on rose fields. Old town of Plovdiv is breathtaking.
Adriana is such a nice guide, not only with the standard historical knowledge but also these interesting small details that you will never hear on this “touristic” trips.
At the end highly recommended – we plan already our next trip to Balkan with Adriana as guide.

Adriana speaks perfect English and 3 more languages. She has travelled the world extensively an has a degree in Marketing and is experienced as a professional guide now running her own business. Recommended by fellow Trip Advisors, I wrote and was offered two itineraries. We modified one, agreed to cost and meeting point & we were delighted . Visited Troyan and Veliko Tarnarov one day and Plovdiv the next. Adriana manages all the museum admissions so we did not need to sort out local currency. We used cc for restaurant lunches which were unique and of yummy quality and pleasant service. Our interests were culture, history and art and the trip was so tailored! Ski and winery tours are other winter options …we walked Sophia on our own.do not miss the archaeological museum!

I contracted with Adriana for a 12 day solo trip to the Balkan countries (Bulgaria, Romania, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Serbia). By any standards it was pretty aggressive relative to sites and the amount of driving that it entailed.
The first test was this – would she be at the Bucharest airport when i arrived? I have had some experiences in past trips that were not good. SHE WAS THERE. AND FURTHERMORE SHE WAS THERE EVERYTIME WE WERE IN MOTION, which was relatively often. she is great with time management. So if you have a concern about this agency living up to its contractual obligations – DO NOT WORRY. If she asks for a deposit by way of a bank transfer DO NOT WORRY. She is a person of her word.
I am 76 years old and i do not move the way i used to. She is patient and sensitive to needs. The trip was overall excellent and I certainly saw what I wanted to see. I did ask for some changes in the schedule and she always obliged (sites that I read about that were not on the agreed upon schedule). So – in conclusion I recommend the agency and Adriana highly.

Adriana was superb as a tour guide for our group. She was very detailed preparing the program before the trip, making sure we had all of our preferences met. During the trip, Adriana was amazing- teaching us the history of Bulgaria and the Balkans, showing us sites off the beaten path, and engaging us as friends. We traveled all over the country- The Pirin Mountains, Rila Monastery, Sofia, Plovdiv, Buzludzha, Sozopol, Sunny Beach- all in only 8 days!! She made our trip unique and worry-free, and it was definitely a highlight of my travels in Europe.

My friends and I enjoyed two wonderful days of tours with Adriana, to Rila Monastery and Melnik on day one and Koprivshtetsa and Plovdiv on the second. We saw so many beautiful sights and learned about Bulgarian history and traditions, but thanks to the attentive approach of Adriana and her group we received so much more: an appreciation for a warm and hospitable culture, an admiration for their national pride and love of tradition, many opportunities to see the beauty of different parts of the country, and an eagerness to return to explore more parts of Bulgaria. Adriana thought of everything, from bottled water each day as we started out to all admission fees, great places to eat and sites to see. I feel like we have made good friends in Bulgaria and I enthusiastically recommend Adriana and her team!

Engaging, knowledgable, and good fun – Adriana was worth every penny and ensured that the most was made of every minute of time. She took us (group of seven blokes) on a bespoke 7 hour walking tour of Sofia – which included frequent stop-offs at a range of local bars… which we would never have found on our own. She held our attention for the full day – with ease! Would highly recommend.

I was very impressed by Private Guide Bulgaria for a number of reasons:
Adriana was able to organize a really last minute private tour for me. (very grateful!!!). Hristo, my tour guide to Buzludzha, was incredibly polite and friendly. Although the car journey was long, Hristo was fantastic company and we talked at length about nearly everything to do with Bulgaria! I learnt a lot of things about the traditions and history of Bulgaria just from my conversation with him. It was very clear that Hristo was passionate about his country and genuinely wanted others to enjoy their time on the tour.
