5 Days Guided Balkan Cycling Tour

Hello friends, we are ready whit exiting new adventure! Prepare your bikes and let’s go. The plan is to make bicycle tour around the Balkans and the most beautiful places as Monte Negro, Bosna and Croatia. The tour includes two days trip around national park “Durmitor” in Monte Negro, visit to the famous Kotor bay. At last but not at least we’ll make a tour around the town of Dubrovnik, included in the UNESCO heritage list. And because we love to make you happy, we garnish this adventure whit many different kind of traditional food, cheerful friendly guides and a lot, a lot of Rakia.

Detailed Program

Day 1 (Sofia/Bulgaria – Zabljak/Monte Negro)

We’ll depart early in the morning, around 08:30 AM, from Sofia Bulgaria. After a long drive we’ll arrive at approximately 19:00 PM it the small town of Zabljak (Monte Negro). On the way we’ll pass through the wooden town of Kosturica, famous with it’s traditional architecture. The whole day we’ll enjoy the scenery and breathtaking views on the way to the second biggest canyon in the world, that of the Tara river. After we arrive, we’ll be accommodated in picturesque hotel, where we shall spend the night.

Day 2 (Zabljak/ Monte Negro – Nedaino/ Monte Negro)

This is the first day of the cycling Balkan tour around the Durmitor Park in Monte Negro. We’ll continue the Balkan cycling tour after breakfast, taking the 33 km. long scenery route at around 08:30-09:00 AM. On the way we’ll stop for lunch in a local tavern, where the owner Misho will prepare delicious local dishes for us. After we take a rest we’ll aim to “Susica” canyon, where after steep and vivid descend we will reach “Susica” Lake. After that is strait up from the canyon to the guest house of our friend and host Ivan. He will accommodate us and whit the help of his beautiful daughters Natasha and Elena he’ll provide us delicious food and great homemade Rakia.

Day 3 (Nedaino/ Monte Negro – Kotor/ Monte Negro)

On the third day of our Balkan cycling tour we’ll get up early, around 07:00AM. For breakfast, Natasha will prepare some special treat for us, called “Pogalici” – traditional breakfast combined whit hip marmalade which is something to die for, honestly. If anybody wants to take some for the road, nobody will mind, on the contrary it is advisable because we have to pass 60 km. with the bicycles this day. The road is beautiful, goes around the highest peak of the mountain – “Bobotov kuk”. After we hike the peak we are going down to “Zabljak”, where our bus will wait for us. When we change and tuck our bikes it’s time to go south to the city of Kotor. We’ll spend the evening in sweat chat under the dying light of the day. The hotel we provided is located on the shore of the bay, presenting beautiful scenery and comfort to its guests.

Day 4 (Kotor/ Monte Negro – Dubrovnik/ Croatia)

The forth day of our Balkan bicycle trip we’ll take it easy. After taking a good sleep we will go on a city tour around Kotor and its many historical sites. We’ll go to the old town, whom is hidden behind huge stone walls and moat. Beside the walls and the old town, Kotor have ancient fort, which is protecting to town form the beginning. The fort is situated over the city in steep and difficult terrain, the only way to go there is via 1800 steps which leads to the top. But don’t worry it’s worth it. After launch we will departure to our next destination, Dubrovnik for whom Bernard Show says “If you want to see the paradise, go to Dubrovnik”. We’ll spend the rest of the day wandering true the magnificent town and spend the night there.

Day 5 (Dubrovnik/ Croatia – Sofia/Bulgaria)

All good things come to an end, right? On the way back we’ll visit the famous Bosnian town of Mostar, which is known for his breach. After that we’ll hit the scenic road again all the way to the Bulgarian capital.
